1️⃣ Subject (主语 – zhǔ yǔ)
The subject is who or what the sentence is about.
- Examples:
- 我 (wǒ) → I / me
- 他 (tā) → he / him
- 她 (tā) → she / her
- 这本书 (zhè běn shū) → this book
Usually comes first in a sentence.
2️⃣ Verb (动词 – dòng cí)
The verb shows what the subject does or is.
- Common verbs:
- 是 (shì) → to be
- 有 (yǒu) → to have
- 去 (qù) → to go
- 喜欢 (xǐ huān) → to like
- 在 (zài) → at / in / on / doing
3️⃣ Object / Complement (宾语 / 补语 – bīn yǔ / bǔ yǔ)
The object tells what is affected by the verb, or the result/place/thing.
- Examples:
- 苹果 (píng guǒ) → apple
- 学校 (xué xiào) → school
- 中文 (zhōng wén) → Chinese language
- 家 (jiā) → home
Putting it together:
Subject + Verb + Object / Complement
- 我吃苹果。 → Wǒ chī píng guǒ. → I eat an apple.
- 他去学校。 → Tā qù xué xiào. → He goes to school.
- 我在家看书。 → Wǒ zài jiā kàn shū. → I am reading at home.
- 我喜欢中文。 → Wǒ xǐ huān zhōng wén. → I like Chinese.
